As the water cools the fishing is back to it's best.......

November can be a bad month for fishing with cold frosty nights and a bright low sun, but this year early indications are pointing towards a good month with good catch rates as fish stay higher in the water column. It's not all lures either, buzzers have worked well when fished around the 5 foot mark with Mr Lawson Bedford from Rotherham catching 15 plus a green tagged fish all in a 4 hour spell all to home tied buzzers. Egg flies have also been popular still fished around 4 to 5 foot mark, with the best colour being white hotspot and fluro yellow. Regarding the lures try the cats whisker or a white fritz when fished on a intermediate line but remember to alter your reteive by mixing it up a bit with long pulls followed by short jerky actions. Fish of the week goes to Mr Robert Norcott from Knutsford with a cracking rainbow of 17lb 3oz caught on a orange and white lure fished from a floating line. Although rod numbers have been slighty down this week due to bonfire night and champions league football the catch totals have worked out to be one of the highest this season with a rod average of 9.5 fish per angler and total of 913 fish caught in the week!
