Only the brave turn out in this......or the mad!!

Well the forecasters predicted 15cm of snow and strong easterly winds and down to minus 10, but to be honest the conditions have been quite nice during the day. Ok it's been cold but the sun has been out so in the brief window from 10am to 3pm it's been more than bearable almost pleasurable as fisherman have found plenty of space for some wandering around the banks. Top patterns have been bunny leaches and snake fly patterns on intermediate lines when fished around 6 foot mark, floating lines have produced with egg flies, white buzzers and mini damsels. Platform 2 is still the hot spot on the lower lake as Mr Andy Stone from Norden found with a respectable 22 fish in 4 hours, taking 2 for 11lb. Top lake continues to fish well from the life buoy and the bay area, with the cage area working well to bloodworms and egg flies fished with a strike indicator. Fish of the week goes to Mr Mark Woodrow from Salford with a nice double caught on the top lake on a bunny leach fished from a intermediate line. Quite a number of brownies have started being caught recently which puzzled me for a while as I was saving them until March, but I have now realized why as I have witnessed them doing the "great escape" jumping from cage to cage then from cage to lake!!!!
