Forget last weeks post, a bit of sun brings them all out............

At last a t-shirt day at Pennine, not bad to say it's the middle of May! As the days are getting a bit warmer, fly life has started to reappear with buzzers and small pond olives beginning to hatch in the later parts of the afternoon. Best tactics of floating lines have been buzzers, hares ears and even cdc dries when fished correctly. Sinking lines still produce when the conditions are variable with black fritzs and skinny damsels doing the best. Fish of the week goes to Mr Ashley Robinson from Warrington with another big double caught in "big fish alley" Ashley caught the fish on a yellow egg fly fished from a floating line. Other noteable catches were Mr Kevin Mc Galshow from Bamberbridge with a rainbow of 15lb 10oz caught on a damsel, Mr Ed Wood from St Helens with a 14lb 7oz rainbow caught on a white egg fly and Mr Carl Exley with a 14lb 2oz rainbow caught on a green and white fritz. In total 10 doubles in 7 days have been taken, with another 15 doubles being stocked this weekend upto 19lb. Fish averages are at 4lb 3oz with a rod average of 7 fish per angler.
