A week of broken rods and bent nets........

Well I did warn you.......Although the fish average has not hits its peak yet the recent stockings have certainly boosted the averages, with the fish having full tails and currently pushing 4lb 5oz as a average they are causing the fisherman plenty of problems in landing them. As we enter late May the average should peak at a predicted 4lb 9oz and that's I call a BIG stockie!!! The recent bigger bags have come to lures with snake flys, olive damsels and dancers generally still fished high up in water at around 5 foot, with the natural patterns picking up the more resident fish to buzzers, cdc hoppers and sedges all working well. Fish of the week goes to Mr Grenville Stretton from Todmorden with a nice double caught on a home tied buzzer fished from a floating line. As I said before these bigger fish are being stocked on a regular basis so if you are after a bit of fight with a strong Pennine rainbow then now is your time to wet your nets.
