The Bank Holiday weekend did not disappoint........

With the weather still favorable the Bank Holiday was a great time to fish at Pennine, with plenty of reported bags in the region of 30 fish with a couple close to 50 fish. Conditions are still keeping the fish in the first 4 foot so buzzers and dries are currently very popular, basically most natural patterns are getting interest when stripped just below the surface. Best patterns for this method are bibios, cubanas and cripped daddies. Regarding the lures white rabbits, blue flash cats and olive damsels have proven the best still fished at around 4 foot. Fish of the week goes to Darlington angler Mr Micheal Alexander with a fish that beat his pervious by over 10 pound! Micheal caught the fish on a lure fished on a floating line in the bay area on the top lake. This weekends averages are as predicted with 621 fish and counting caught over the last three days with a average size of 4lb 5oz per fish being taken, plenty of blues still in the mix and of coarse the very popular silvers. This week should see the average size creep up to 4lb 8oz as more of these big stockies go in.
