Soaring temperatures make fishmen opt for intermediate lines again!!.........

Intermediates lines are ruling again with damsels and hothead black fritzs doing the business on the past few days as the temperatures rocket past the seasonal averages and hit 22 C. Although the weather is set to change to more cooler temperatures over the next couple of days you must bring two lines (floater and intermediate) with you just in case we hit another hot spell. The fishing hotspots have been the life buoy on the top lake casting towards the cages and from the dam wall. Buzzers are still catching fish but mainly after lunch as the sun starts to dip, remember if you have any ripple try and follow it as there will be plenty of natural food in the water at the moment on these temperatures. Fish of the week goes to Mrs Carolyn Dykes from Rufford with a personal best of 12lb 10oz caught on a diawl back fished from a floating line. Top catch of the week goes to Mr John Ellis from Halifax with 23 fish, best to 13lb caught on a goldhead montana. Fish averages remain at 4lb with a average catch down to 7 fish per angler.
