It seems to be all in the top three foot.........

The fishing has been yet again brilliant with most catches coming within the first three foot of water, dries have been the best with elk hair sedges, daddies, cdc buzzers and of coarse the Pennine special "the floating fry" With regards the floating fry the fish sometimes prefer this fly moving so if you have no luck as a static dry then try and strip the fly back, it's probably best to do this in a part of the lake were there is a ripple. Going a bit deeper down try buzzers, bloodworms or diawl backs these patterns will also fish better on a rippled part of the lake. Lure fishing has still produced fish with the better catches coming to skinny damsels, olive rabbits and blue flash black fritzs. Fish of the week goes to Mr Steven Durrans from Huddersfield with a good double caught on a pink egg fly fished at 4 foot from a sight indicator. Other notable catches were from Pennine regular Peter Rodgers with 30 fish on his 81st birthday....not bad Pete!! and also Mr James Metcalf from Consett with 26 fish to App's bloodworms and northern spiders fished from a floating line. The Bank Holiday weekend is lucking pretty good regards the weather so the top of the water fishing should continue throughout.
