Summer is at last here......

Beautiful warm summer sun graces Pennines waters which is gladly welcomed as it seemed such a long cold spring, the flylife is abundant more so on the more cloudy days so buzzers are high on the trouts menu. The only downside to the warm sunshine is that if there is no cloud the fish can tend to sit a bit deeper in the water column, generally a intermediate line is always enough just as long as you are willing to count your fly down to the appropriate depth, please note the sink rate of your line as intermediates only sink at around 1 to 2 inches per second. Best patterns have been black buzzers, cdc buzzers and mini hoppers for the floating lines, with olive cats, bloodworms and black fritz leaches working well on sinking lines. Fish of the week goes to Mr Martin Devereux from Milnsbridge with a cats whisker caught double. Next week is the BIG FISH week with another monster stocking of doubles planned for the 13th of June these fish are again direct from the fish farm. I currently don't have any sizes but I will post this infomation when the fish have been graded out, let's hope they are up for it like last months fish.
