Finally spring seems to arrived.....

With joking aside this last 3 months as a fishery manager has been tough. Heavy rain and 85mph winds have not been ideal therefore footfall at the fishery has been light but that said we are still here and still providing a quality service with an excellent catch rate. This week is forcast to be the start of Spring with temperatures creeping up to 15C which is welcomed news as fish will begin feeding higher up the water column on buzzers and bloodworms. That's not to say it's time to pack away the snake flies or the cats whiskers it just gives the fisherman a option on his tactics. Currantly a large number of fish are holding up in 2 big shoals that seem to be going a continued circle of the lake focusing on the bay area and just in front of the cabin. On the brighter days the shoals are visable and my estimate it looks to be inexess of 300 fish in each, hit the shoal right with the right fly and watch the fish bow wave in numbers of upto 5 fish all going for the same fly!!!!! This weeks fish of the week goes to Mr Gary Green from Rochdale with a stunning rainbow of 17lb caught in front of the cages on the top lake, gary caught the fish on a egg fly fished near to the cage at around 5 foot. As I have said in prevoius posts we are focusing on quality this year and we are currantly holding lots of fish like this that are all due to be used this season...are you ready to beat your P.B's?
