9th December 2012

It's good to be back.....

As most of you know December is a busy montth for me with the any method on the lower lake taking up a lot of my time, this is now finished and we are in the process of cleaning up and re stocking should be taking place later this week. Although we do not a opening date yet for the lower lake my guess is it should be open again around the 22nd December, just in time for you guys to test out your Christmas presents!! The top lake currently is open and fishing very well, with bloodworms and mini damsels working well on floating lines and the usual egg fly patterns are a hit in the bay area with pink and lime green being the best colours when fished around 5 foot. Intermediate lines have worked well on yellow dancers and blue flash white fritzs when fished around the 4 to 6 foot mark. Fish of the week goes to Mr Jeff Hodgson from Connset, Jeff caught the double on a sinking line whilst fishing a cats whisker. As for angler of the week this is tricky as plenty of lads have had in excess of 20 fish in there session, but I give it to Mr Dave Burke as he caught his fish in less than 4 hours, 21 fish mainly to snakes fished from a intermediate line. As the Christmas holidays approach I would advise booking for weekends and for the few days in between Chistmas and New year.
